Research was
conducted in Europe, the United States of America, Australia and Asia to help
develop concepts and specifications for exhibition design and content,
audience flow and control, sequencing, use of technology, operations,
marketing and merchandise.
Exposure to
tourist precincts, cultural centres and commercial ventures - imaginative and
unimaginative, complex and simple, electronic and mechanical - helped create a
body of ideas and material, including checklists, research notes, photographs,
publications and merchandise to guide the project.
The following
select list of sites visited in Atlanta, London, New York, Osaka, Paris, St
Louis, San Francisco and Washington DC may assist those undertaking projects
for museums, site tours and other cultural services.
