Between 1973
and 1997, sponsorship funds of more
than $575,000.contributed to the development of the library
The chief
supporters were Dennis Wolanski and Phillip Wolanski, who contributed
$257.000.
The Ladies'
Committee of the Sydney Opera House Appeal Fund provided nearly $80,000 -
chiefly to support the Sydney Opera House oral history project, which created
nearly 50 recorded interviews and transcripts with politicians, architects,
engineers, social commentators and site workers.
The
electronics company, Philips, provided $15,000 to help build the collection on
Australian theatre and drama.
The Myer,
Potter and Utah foundations were generous with funds to support the purchase
of major reference works and microfilm copies of performing arts journals.
Memorial
funds were established to commemorate the contribution to the House and to the
Australian performing arts by notable figures such as Regina Ridge, Stefan
Haag and Annette Kellermann.
When the
Trust closed the library, a balance of $200,000 remained in its sponsorship
accounts.
