Australia Dancing
Joint venture of the ScreenSound Australia, the National Library of Australia and Ausdance. With initial funding from the the Australia Council, the project aims to locate, preserve and make accessible film and video examples of the work of some of Australia's leading choreographers, and to link moving images with related dance resources in other media, especially extensive dance material held by the National Library of Australia. which includes collections relating to the Australian Ballet, Australian Choreographic Ensemble, Entr'acte Theatre, Green Mill Dance Project, Human Veins Dance Theatre, Meryl Tankard Company and photographic collections in the form of the Geoffrey Ingram Archive of Australian Ballet, and Sydney Dance Company Collection. Australian choreographers whose work is represented in the Australian Dance Collection include Don Asker, Margaret Barr, Gertrude Bodenwieser, Edouard Borovansky, Kai Tai Chan, Elizabeth Dalman, Beth Dean, Russell Dumas, Nanette Hassell, Robert Helpmann, Sue Healey, Laurel Martin, Paul Mercurio, Barry Moreland, Graeme Murphy, Gideon Obarzanek, Stephen Page, Chrissie Parrott, Cheryl Stock, Rex Reid, Meryl Tankard, Jonathon Taylor, Valrene Tweedie, Leigh Warren, Graeme Watson, Natalie Weir and Garth Welch. In December 2006, the National Library of Australian acquired the Hugh P Hall collection of photographs re the Ballets Russes.

Television archival holdings, aboriginal television programs and pay tv listings are included in Lynn Fisher’s Dance out of Darkness, available at the University of Western Sydney Nepean’s website.

David Jones Department Store Archives
Has catalogues and press clippings associated with exhibitions held at the store, 1938-1978 including Drawings of the Russian Ballet (1938), Art for Theatre and Ballet (1940), William Constable Exhibition of Designs for drama and ballet (1947), Corroboree (1950) and Loudon Sainthill exhibitions 1972 and 1978. National Gallery of Australia
Holds major collection of Diaghilev Ballets Russes costumes and memorabilia. The Gallery's  Research Library has a FlickR site with photographs from its Helene Kirsova archive, and rare Ballet Russes programmes dating from the 1930's and 1940's. Helene Kirsova danced with the Ballet Russes de Monte Carlo on its 1936 Australian tour and settled in Australia where she established her own ballet school in Sydney.http://www.flickr.com/photos/nga_researchlibrary/

Holds Queensland Ballet Collection, including production albums, costumes and costume designs.  >

Recipient of dance books and periodicals from the Dennis Wolanski Library of the Performing Arts.

State Library of New South Wales
Holds Margaret Barr, Irene Vera Young, Beth Dean & Victor Carell collections, Sir Robert Helpmann scrapbooks, and William Constable designs for Corroboree. Publications, manuscript and photographic collections, programs and oral history tapes are listed in Lynn Fisher’s Dance out of Darkness, available on the University of Western Sydney Nepean’s website.

University of Adelaide Barr Smith Library.
Holds dance critic Dr Alan Brissenden papers 1965-2001.
