  • Arts Libraries Society / Australia & New Zealand
    Chiefly concerned with the visual arts. Holds conferences, publishes a journal and maintains an electronic discussion group for members

  • Australasian Sound Recording Association
    An association of record collectors, professional sound archivists, radio broadcasters and social historians, consisting of individuals and institutions with a strong interest in sound recording history, its development and related activities

  • Australian e-Humanities Network
    A network led by the Australian Academy of the Humanities in collaboration with the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle to develop and maintain an Australian gateway for information on digital resources in the Humanities, development of training in digital research methods for scholars and students and the provision of infrastructure for the staging of a biennial national conference.  

  • International Association of Music Libraries, Archives & Documentation Centres, Australian Branch
    Represents public libraries, tertiary institutions and special collections. Holds a national conference every two years, publishes a newsletter and journal and has initiated and developed several bibliographic projects, including Union Catalogue of Orchestral Scores and Performing Parts in Australian Music Libraries and Collections.

  • Museums Australia Performing Arts Special Interest Group
    Interests include development of a coordinated national collections policy and strategy for the performing arts; identification of emerging issues in the documentation of the performing arts and promotion of opportunities for collaborative partnerships


International

Performing arts & theatre

  • International Association of Libraries and Museums of the Performing Arts
    SIBMAS - La Société Internationale des Bibliothèques et des Musées des Art du Spectacles - was formed in 1954 to provide a forum for information professionals concerned with documenting the performing arts. Produces an international directory of performing arts libraries and museums. Holds regular conferences. Provides links to partner organisations.

  • Theatre Library Association
    A non-profit organisation in the United States, established in 1937 to promote the collection, preservation and use of theatrical and performing arts materials. 

Dance

  • Dance Heritage Coalition
    Provides full-text finding aids to collections held by DHC members, links to library catalogues and databases, performing arts cataloguing guidelines, preservation resources and other information. Members include the Library of Congress, New York Public Library's Dance Collection and San Francisco Performing Arts Library and Museum.
