Between 1973 and 1997, sponsorship funds of more than $575,000.contributed to the development of the library

The chief supporters were Dennis Wolanski and Phillip Wolanski, who contributed $257.000.

The Ladies' Committee of the Sydney Opera House Appeal Fund provided nearly $80,000 - chiefly to support the Sydney Opera House oral history project, which created nearly 50 recorded interviews and transcripts with politicians, architects, engineers, social commentators and site workers.

The electronics company, Philips, provided $15,000 to help build the collection on Australian theatre and drama.

The Myer, Potter and Utah foundations were generous with funds to support the purchase of major reference works and microfilm copies of performing arts journals.

Memorial funds were established to commemorate the contribution to the House and to the Australian performing arts by notable figures such as Regina Ridge, Stefan Haag and Annette Kellermann.

When the Trust closed the library, a balance of $200,000 remained in its sponsorship accounts.
